However, I'm homesick for Michigan this week. That hasn't happened in a really long time -- Since we first moved here, actually.
I think the majority of the homesick feeling is mostly because my dear friend Stephanie had her 4th boy this past Monday. I'm so far away with out a way to purchase a ticket to see the baby and my sweet, friend -due to cost, work, and time. Reality= plain right, sucks, sometimes.
I think the second part of my self-pity has also been that Noah's been working a lot this month. I'm so thankful for a husband who works so hard and so much for his family. I get so spoiled, most of the time, by having so much time with him on the weekends and I'm so thankful. I just forget what it feels like when I don't get to see him much. I guess that could be a good thing... I'm not sick of him! :o)
I'm being ridiculous though. I need to buck up because God has blessed me in so many ways.
So, I'm going to try to count a few...
1) My sweet friend Anna came from Michigan last week and left this past Tuesday. It was so great to spend time with her... and realized we have not hung out together since I was on FULL TIME staff at Bair Lake Bible Camp..... almost 3 years ago!!!!
2) We got to see our little man, this week. I hadn't felt him kick in a couple of days, so Noah suggested, I call my OB. I called and told them that I wasn't panicking but, I hadn't felt his kicks. They asked me to go in and gave me an unexpected ultra sound. They just wanted to check fluids and stuff...
NO JOKE: He was lounging on the placenta. His hands are behind his head and feet kicked up and using the placenta as a pillow.... which was blocking me from feeling his kicks. So funny.
He must be done chillaxing, because today he's been a busy baby with a lot of kicking. He's still breech so I'm praying that in the next 15 weeks, He flips over so I can have a normal birth. As long as he's healthy, that's all that matters!
3) Noah has a job. That he loves. I can't feel sorry for myself when I miss him, because we are so blessed that he has a great job at a great church... serving Jesus.
4) Hillsong United has a new album= "Aftermath"
Noah makes fun of me for loving cheesy Christian music.... but I'm a total sucker for it. Although, he doesn't think that Hillsong is in that category (Thankfully). Worship is so good for me to stay focused on the things and the ONE that I need to be focused on. I had a professor in Bible College, who once said, "You must have a song in your heart at all times. One that gives praise to God. If you always have a song in your heart, the evil once isn't as tempted to tempt you, because he can hear your heart"s praise to the one you will chose to follow." This isn't in the Bible or anything... I just liked it and it's always stuck in my head. I try to make the song that's stuck in my head and in my heart one that gives glory, honor, and praise to the ONE who deserves it. I have to admit that sometimes a little Black Eyed Peas or Justin Bieber gets stuck. HAhaha!!!!
5) I've gotten a lot done at my house these past couple of days. I had an unexpected day off today, because of the flu or something like it, hit the house that I work at. So, today was full of accomplishments, as well. Even though I miss Noah; with him working late, I've taken my chill time that I use with him and put it to use in other areas.
6) God loves me and He is providing friends for me here. Slowly, but surely. Moving is always hard and so many people that I've become friends with, have moved or are moving. Noah and I joke now, that if you start hanging out with us, you better start packing your bags. God's gonna move you. LOL!
Since I decided to be real on here, I have to be honest and say that I would love your prayers for more friendships with women here, in Atlanta. Women who love the Lord and who feel like they have time for friendship. I like my alone time, but sometimes it's too much alone time....
I know God is a provider. I know he knows the desires of my heart. I know that He is all I need. I just can't go get my nails done with Jesus or go shopping for shoes and ask his opinion... He's always invited but, I figure He has better things to do :o)
7) This is silly (but still a blessing): I'm saving money using SouthernSavers.com. Why pay full price when you can get stuff for FREE!?! :o)
Until next time....Grace and Love....
